We grabbed breakfast from a boulangerie and then were on our way. It was extremely windy! We walked around Les Halles which has local foods. Then we ate lunch and were on our way to the Pope's Palace. We saw not only the Palace but the Gardens as well. The Pope was in Avignon from 1309–1376 due to political conditions. Afterwards we walked to the Avignon bridge which has a famous French children's song after it- kind of like London Bridge. The song is "Sur le Pont d'Avignon". Of course we headed back to the neighborhood restaurant for dessert where they recognized us and immediately sat us down.
